About Emma
Let me first locate myself. I am a white, middle-class cis-gendered bisexual female in her 40's, in a Civil Partnership and co-habiting with my male partner. We have children or pets currently, although I love animals. I consider myself spiritual and do not identify as religious. I grew up in Buckinghamshire and relocated to Derbyshire in 2021. I am able-bodied, highly sensitive and relatively neurotypical. I have all the privileges except gender. I do struggle with loud or intrusive noises and choose to live in a quiet rural area as it's good for my nervous system and allows me to connect with nature and the outdoors on a daily basis. I love love, health and nutrition, swimming, cycling, running, spending time with my friends, family and especially my partner, sex, learning, financial planning and adventures. I dislike assumptions, coercive control, being late and having too much to do.
I work with clients of all identities and backgrounds, mostly individuals and occasionally couples. I love my work and my clients and will continue to develop myself personally and professionally in order to grow with the needs I sense in my client base in within myself.
I have run sexuality-based training programmes for individuals who identify as male and female, appeared on podcasts and webinars and taught in-person workshops for the sexually open-minded.
I used to write a bit and now I am focussing on 1 to 1 client work as I am touched daily by the people and stories that cross my path looking for healing and understand there may be a shortage of available therapists at times.
I am a strong advocate for open and transparent conversations about sex and feelings held in safe, healthy and non violent ways.
I work to support adults to re-educate themselves about sex and sexual energy, boundaries (theirs and others), self-care and self love. I invite clients to take personal responsibility for their sexual and interpersonal development and to increase their capacity for relating so we can begin to rebuild a culture where we relate to one-another in healthy ways, to rebalance gender, race and other power dynamics, to reconnect ourselves with the natural environment and to learn to enjoy the resources we can provide for each other relationally when life gets tough.
I consider myself now as a guide and a facilitator to others who are looking to heal from past trauma and make changes in their lives. I specialise in both sexuality and parts work (IFS) and over the years I’ve found perceived sexuality-related issues are almost always routed eventually in developmental trauma and attachment wounding so I hold each person’s wish for sexual healing lightly and in the context of the complexity of their whole lives. Many of my clients do not bring sexuality related issues and I do not work exclusively with those focussing on the role of sexuality within their lives.
I do not have a Masters or a PhD in Psychotherapy or Counselling and I am not overseen by a Registered UK Body such as the UKCP, BACP, ASIS or COSRT currently. I review this choice regularly. If you are looking for a registered Psychotherapist or Counsellor you can find one via the relevant body websites.
I have chosen to Certify in and work with an integrated approach combining Internal Family Systems and Psychosexual Somatics® Therapy and am adding inputs from Relational Life Therapy and other couples therapy models that support a relational mindset. The latter is a work in progress.

Professional Background:
Leaving a career in Finance and Business in 2015 after a personal physical and mental health crisis, that originated 3 years earlier, I made a transition into the realm of supporting others with Self-healing from Trauma; with a focus on sex, relationships and personal development.
I leverage my subsequent professional trainings, learned experiences through own system and history, including my trauma healing journey, my personal interest in human transformation, neuro-plasticity, mental and physical health, teachings from the various modalities and teachers I have studied with professionally and for personal development, lessons from my clients, supervisors, therapists, friendships and romantic relationships all together into my expression as a facilitator, practitioner and mentor. I am a life-long student of what it is to be human, having Graduated with a Degree in Human Sciences at Oxford University and adding a Certificate in Sustainable Business at Post-Grad level at Cambridge.
Professionally I'm a Certified Internal Family Systems Practitioner (Level 3 trained), qualified PsychoSexual Somatics® Therapist, with a background in Finance and Business (ACA, Senior Management for AkzoNobel), Human Sciences (Oxford MA), Sustainable Business Development (Post Grad Certificate) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (Business Practitioner).
I'm an ongoing student and previous programme assistant for Internal Family Systems UK (Level 3 trained Feb 2022 and Fully Certified in 2021) and have previously been a Mentor and Leader for the PsychoSexual Somatics® Coaching Programme.
I have previously taught for Killing Kittens (A Shame-free community for Dating and Sex Ed), for Sonder and Beam (A peer-to-peer network allowing women and non binary folks to understand and own their sexuality) and my own courses for both men and women, online and in person respectively.
Personal Background:
Personally I have a background in Martial Arts (Kickboxing Black Belt), Writing, Music Long-term Relating, PTSD Recovery, Major Hip Surgery, Property Renovations, Being a Landlady, Sexual & Relational Experimentation, Shamanic Healing (Jay and Kestrel Oakwood, Glastonbury), Women’s Tantra (Micheale Boehm Yr 1), Vaginal Kung Fu (Kim Anami), plus have been mentored on the topics of Sexual Communication, Betty Martins’ “Wheel of Consent” and Non Violent Communication (Marshall B Rosenberg) through various workshops and in person by a former mentor, coach and friend, based in California.
I have dabbled personally in a number of personal development trainings, practises and groups I do not recommend to others, including the International School for Temple Arts (Level 1), Landmark, and Orgasmic Meditation (One Taste). Each has given me growth and lessons in different ways, although was not necessarily supportive of healing or grounding.
I am a human with all the gifts and humilities of that experience and wish to meet you as equals as you walk your path.
